As the Head of IT, you will completely own the IT initiative to drive the business - architecting to build a state of the art, scalable platform, building and managing the team, ideating and being involved in growing FLIP to a great company.

The Role:
The role will involve complete ownership of business technology to ensure a simple, scalable and intuitive platform. Specifically, you will:

Plan all budgetary and resource requirements.

Analyse the current platform for functionality gaps, after getting a complete understanding of current and future business plans
- Design, prioritise and manage development of platform 2.0

Manage the ongoing functionality and support of current platform

Work with business to define how technology can push business

Work with B2C sales to create retail pull and conversion – via web analytics, SEO

Plan and build internal tech team

Own and manage all internal technology requirements (IT security, networking, h/w and s/w )
You will have immense freedom to ideate, plan and execute. You’ll be part of a team which is creating a great company from scratch.
With a current team strength of 20, this is as close to a cushioned entrepreneurial experience as it gets.
You will be located out of Mysore .Your reporting is to the CEO.

Who you are:

You have an engineering degree from a good college, with a 8-10 years’ experience in web technologies.

You have started out with coding, and have a strong understanding of good coding practices.

You have been part of at least one large B2C web implementation, and worked on its support and maintenance either on vendor or client side. This is a must have requirement.

You understand web architecture, and how retail portals are architected for usability and scalability.

You understand web application security features

You understand web 2.0 functionalities, and how they can drive business. You demonstrate high skill in:
• Java / JEE
• RDBMS (Oracle / MYSQL)
• Design Patterns, LAMP

The following skills would be an advantage:
Your interest is in how technology can drive business, rather than technology for its own sake. You look to read and learn on an ongoing basis.
