The FLIP National Challenge is an all India contest conducted by Finitiatives Learning India Private Limited (FLIP) for business school students.

Students are required to write a FLIP certification exam in the area of their choice (Treasury & Capital Markets/Corporate Banking-Products & Credit Analysis/Trade Finance and Cash Management Services for final year students and Finance & Banking Fundamentals - India for 1st year students). The exam must be written between 9th August and 26th September, 2011.

The top 10 students (for final year students only) from each area will get to attend a role specific job interview with FLIP National Challenge Partners (ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and YES BANK).

The top 10 students (for 1st year students only) will get an opportunity to visit the Standard Chartered Bank’s dealing room and meet the MD (Regional Head) of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities – South Asia.

Also the Top Ten students of each area (including 1st year students) will get mentoring/interview guidance and help in resume preparation from senior bankers for their internship.

The Top 3 in each area (including 1st year students) get Cash Prizes of INR 30,000, 20,000 and 10,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

To participate in the FLIP National Challenge you need to follow the steps given below.

Step 1: Register: Visit www.learnwithflip.com and register. You need to activate the registration by clicking on the link sent to your email.

Step 2: Enroll for the Challenge: On the home page of the website, click on the Challenge link. This link will take you to a page where you can view details and enroll for the certification exam by paying an all inclusive exam fee of Rs.1500 only. Note that the enrolment process will close by 12th September 2011.

Step 3: Book Examination date: Select the examination center of your choice from the list of available test centers across India, book the exam place, date and time according to your convenience.

**Please remember: 26th September, 2011 is the last date of writing the exam. Seats at testing centers are limited, and are allotted on a first come first served basis. To ensure the slot of your choice, please book your seat as soon as possible. The exam is computer based and multiple choice, with negative marking.

Step 4: Prepare for the exam: Either you can study on your own, or purchase FLIP’s e-learning courses, which map onto the certifications. BUT DO PREPARE. THESE ARE RIGOROUS CERTIFICATIONS. Take the exam on the booked date/time at the selected center. You will get the scores immediately on completion. If you have cleared the certification, you will get the hard copy of the certificate within 15 working days of the results announced. Note that a booked date cannot be rescheduled – it will involve a cancellation and re-booking.

Step 5: Results will be announced on 03rd October on the website www.learnwithflip.com and only the top 10 candidates will be intimated through an email by FLIP. We will put up both the top ten certified candidates and a waitlist of 3 for each certification. This is in case a student in the top ten opts out or is disqualified.

**Please mention your correct email id and contact number, which you use frequently, to ensure that you do not miss any communication from FLIP. Also please enter your name, as you wish it to be printed on your certificate.

Step 6: Send the confirmation mail back to FLIP confirming your availability on the specified dates to attend the interviews, along with the scanned copy of the following documents.

• College Identity card
• A bonafide certificate from your Institute confirming that you are a 1st year/final year student of that institute.
• Your latest resume with a PP size photograph.

** Please keep these documents ready before hand to avoid a last minute rush.

Any student who is pursuing a full time regular (Non-executive) post graduate program in management/MBA from any recognized Institute/University/Deemed university/Private University in India.

Yes, you can write more than one certification exam. BUT, the final list of top 10 participants will be unique for each Certification. If you are among the top 10 candidates in more than one, then you will have to choose the Certification you wish to be considered for. You will have to send an email within 12 hours of FLIP’s communication of results to you. If not, FLIP will put your name in the Certification where you have a higher rank. If you have the same rank in two or more Certifications, then FLIP will put your name as per the following priority -

• Treasury and Capital Markets
• Corporate Banking – Products & Credit Analysis
• Trade Finance and Cash Management Services (CMS)

If you have purchased the regular FLIP certification/training/combo in any of the applicable area before 09th August 2011, then you cannot participate in the same area. However, you can participate in a different area. For example, if you have purchased Trade Finance training before 9th August, you are not eligible to write the Trade Finance & Cash Management Challenge, but you can write the other two.

Yes, you need to pay an exam fee of Rs.1500 (including service tax) for the certification exam. You can make the payment using Credit Card/Debit Card/ Internet Banking or Cash/Cheque/ DD.

To make a cash/cheque/DD payment, select ‘cash/cheque/DD’ as the mode of payment, while making your purchase on the website. Then, download the deposit slip. You need to deposit the cash/cheque/DD at the nearest Axis Bank Branch along with this deposit slip only.
The Cheque/DD should be drawn in favour of “Finitiatives Learning India Private Limited” and a DD should be payable at Mysore.

You will not get any study material for the preparation. You will get the detailed Certification coverage, as well as a Diagnostic Test, which is similar to the Certification exam, to test your preparation. You can study by accessing your own study material, or purchase the relevant FLIP e-learning Courses.

The last date to enroll for the FLIP National challenge is 12th September 2011. However, you should enroll as soon as possible, to get more time for your preparation, as well as ensure you get the exam slot of your choice. The last week/s typically get booked up first.

No, a participant can write the certification only once in a particular area, during the contest period. If she/he takes the same certification more than once, she/he will be disqualified/moved out of the FLIP Challenge.

All shortlisted participants MUST attend the PPI with all three challenge partners. If a participant misses any of the PPIs, she/he also forfeits the cash prize AND place on the shortlist. Cash prizes will be given only after the PPI procedure gets over.

We will try our best to guide all FLIP certified candidates. However, the interview guidance sessions and resume preparation is guaranteed for the final top ten certified candidates only.

A tie-breaker is applied as per the following rules:

1. Score upto one decimal point
2. Number of correct answers/Total numbers of questions attempted.

The Institute Championship is a part of the FLIP National Challenge 2011. The Institute with the best performing students will win the championship.

The winning institute will get the Institute Championship Trophy. All the students of that institute will get access to a defined list of FLIP’s award winning courses for one month, free of cost. The Institute also gets its own Hall of Fame on FLIP’s website.

The winner will be decided on the basis of total points earned by students of the institute, during the Challenge. You can earn points for your college in the following manner:

Scoring Criteria:

• Enroll for FLIP National Challenge 2011 and earn 10 points for your college.
• Clear the certification exam and earn an additional 100 points.
• Get 75% or above, earn FLIP’s Badge of Excellence AND additional 200 points.
• Secure a position in the top 10 and earn an additional 300 points.

To participate in the championship you need to enroll for the FLIP National Challenge 2011. Once you enroll, your college is automatically registered for the Institute Championship.

See above. There is no registration fee for the college; a college gets automatically registered for the Championship as soon as one of its students enrolls for the FLIP National Challenge 2011.

The institute with the higher points wins the Championship. Higher the participation, and better the performance of the students, higher is the chance of winning. Points are earned for:

• Participation
• Clearing the exam
• Scoring 75% or above (Badge of Excellence)
• Securing a position in the TOP 10.

If you have scored 75% or above, you will earn 610 (10+100+200+300) points for your institute, else, 410 (10+100+300).

If you secure positions in top 10 of two subjects you will score 1220 points, provided you score 75% or above in both the Certifications.

For scoring, every enrollment is counted as unique. For example, if a student enrolls himself/herself for 2 Certifications in the FLIP Challenge, then the college will earn 20 (2×10) points for participation.

No. Only FLIP Challenge Certifications will be considered. If you have cleared any other regular FLIP certification, it will not be counted. You should have participated in FLIP Challenge 2011 and written the exam during the FLIP Challenge 2011.

For final year students:

Once your institute wins the championship, we will contact your institute for the list of interested students. Please make sure that your name is in the list of interested candidates. Every candidate will have to indicate the name of the course s/he is interested in, along with the email ID and registered username with www.learnwithflip.com. Once the list is received from the college we will assign the respective courses to students.

All the FLIP training material is in the form of e-learning modules that can be accessed online only. Summaries are provided in downloadable form.

In such a case the winner will be decided on the basis of the following tie-breaking criteria in the given order:

1. Highest number of students in the Top 10
2. Highest number of students earning the Badge of Excellence (>=75%)
3. Highest number of students clearing the certifications.

No. You will not get any Certificate, if your college wins. Your college will receive the prestigious FLIP Institute Championship trophy. However, if you have participated in the Challenge and cleared the exam, you will receive the certificate for the same.
