FLIP products cater to any individual who needs training in banking and finance to advance his/her career options. We offer both Training and certification in specific areas. Our programs are divided into seven verticals in the Banking and Financial Services (BFS) domain. Each of these verticals - let's say, Investment Banking - has programs at increasing levels of expertise: Foundation, Intermediate and Expert. Let's look at an Area: Intermediate Level - Treasury & Capital Markets vertical. Here we have a set of courses - one each in Equity Markets, Bond Markets, Currency Markets and Derivatives - which together give you 30-50 hours of e-learning courses, backed by faculty support. In each Area, you can choose to buy: - Just the training : this will give you access to the e-learning courses described above. You will get an account, valid for a defined period (currently, 4 months). You can learn at your own pace. You do not get a certificate. - Just the certification: If you are confident that you already have the knowledge, but are looking for a career-enhancing certification, you can opt to just write a certification exam in the Area of your choice. If you clear the exam, you will be 'Intermediate Level - Treasury & Capital Markets' FLIP certified. The examinations are computer-based, across 16 cities, with slots available through each day of the year. - The training & certification combo: This obviously makes the most sense. You'll get access to the e-learning courses in finance, and then write the certification examination. This option is also priced lower than purchasing Training & Certification separately. Our training and certifications are for: Aspirants to the Banking & Financial Services (BFS) sector: Our Foundation level Area (set of courses) are for all new entrants to the BFS. Fresh graduates & postgraduates, IT & KPO employees will gain from this Area. Servicers to the BFS sector: IT & KPO employees working on BFS projects will find our Foundation courses, followed by project specific courses, the most useful. If, for example, you're working on mortgages, the path you'd follow will be: Foundation (Banking & Finance Fundamentals) -> Intermediate (Retail Banking & Finance) -> Expert (Mortgages) BFS Sector employees: This audience will gain most from our Intermediate level training in Retail Banking & Finance, Corporate Banking & Finance, Investment Banking, Wealth Management, Risk Management and Treasury & Capital Markets; as well as our expert level courses which give further intensity of learning in the Areas mentioned above. back to top 3) What are the benefits I get from FLIP's training and/or certifications? - Both training and certification users get direct access to focussed job postings from reputed Banks & Financial Institutions. The content for these programs have been written by banking professionals, all IIM alumni, practitioners with years of experience in the specific domains. The written content is designed into excellent e-learning modules in-house, by a team of MBAs who have majored in Finance. The finance training will enable you to perform and grow faster in your role in a bank / Financial Institution or IT company. Are we a university/do we offer a degree? Nope. What we offer is purely on the strength of an independent, high quality FLIP brand. The finance courses are written by (MNC & Private) banking professionals. The certification is endorsed by reputed banks and financial institutions. "We prefer FLIP certified candidates" is what they say. We're working hard to add to our list of endorsers. back to top 5) How do I know the finance courses are industry oriented? Valid question. First: The two senior managers (CEO & Director) both come with years of banking experience (ANZ Grindlays, Bank of America, Citibank, Deutsche bank) Then, there's how we work: The Area outlines are designed and reviewed by really senior bankers. For example, the Retail Banking Area outline was reviewed by the erstwhile head of Retail Banking for BNP Paribas India . The content is written by practitioners. Let's give you the profiles of two people who wrote most of the Corporate Banking content: one is an IIM Lucknow alumnus (2000 batch), who is a V.P in Yes Bank's Corporate Bank; the other is an IIM Indore (2007) batch alumnus - he's worked in Yes Bank's Corporate Bank too. Another part was written by an IIMA ('87) batch alumnus, who heads risk for an MNC Bank for Europe and Africa. AND then, we asked various banks & F.Is to review our content. The feedback has been modestly put, very good. We've had a V.P at India Infoline saying that not only does he find our course useful (10/10), but he would want these e-learning courses to be a part of their organizational training. A trader at ICICI Bank said that our Derivatives course would add value even to someone already on the desk. You can learn at your convenience. back to top 9) Once I purchase a certification, how long can I take to book a date? How long is the certification valid? Once you purchase a certification, you have upto ONE YEAR to book a date and take your exam. Once you have cleared a certification examination, you will be a proud FLIP CERTIFIED candidate. Your certification will be valid for TWO YEARS at the Foundation Level, and ONE YEAR at the Intermediate and Expert Levels. Why the limited validity? This is to protect the quality of the certification. The BFS world is a fast changing one. Since we pride ourselves on our practical and real-life content, the certification must showcase relevant knowledge. So after one year (of the certification exam) of an Intermediate or Expert Level certification, or two years of a Foundation certification, you'll need to rewrite the exam. Aha! Scam to make me spend more, say you? NO. We've told you how we work - value to the customer is paramount. For a corporate (bulk) purchaser, as many you need. Once you buy, you can allocate them to various users at your leisure - we'll give you a year. What does this mean? It means that you will prefer FLIP certified candidates in your recruitment process. Why would you do this? - Larger number of endorsements encourage more people taking up FLIP training and certification; thus giving you access to a large pool of pre-trained and certified candidates - You can access our FLIP certified pool of candidates: define your profile and the certification score you're looking at, and we'll send you their contacts, at no cost to you - You can post banking and finance jobs which will reach the specific profile you're looking for. For example, if you're looking for a Branch Manager profile, choose 'Retail Banking - Intermediate' Area to post your requirement. All the FLIP users who are going through our Retail Banking Intermediate level training and/or certification will see your post and be able to apply. All Corporate users get a separate login page. You will be able to choose the Area suiting the profile you're looking for, and post to that Area - see above. You will be sent an activation link to the email ID you've specified. Once you have activated the registration, you can login and choose the product that you want, adding it to the Shopping Cart. You have multiple payment options - see below. back to top 2) How do I pay for the courses? We're offering you multiple, convenient payment options, both via a secure online payment gateway and offline at Axis Bank's extensive branch network. Once you have choosen the products you want, click on 'Check Out'. You can then pay online or offline. Online: This is if you want to pay via direct bank debit, credit card or debit card. You will be taken to the secure authorization page; after authorization and payment, you will see the products you have purchased on your dashboard and can start accessing them immediately. Offline: If you'd like to pay via cash, cheque or D.D., you will need to download and print the customized Axis Bank pay-in slip. Note that a general pay-in slip WILL NOT DO. Please use this one only. You will get an order number, which you need to fill in, along with the other details asked for. Visit any Axis Bank branch convenient to you, and hand in your payment along with the pay-in slip. Get your copy of the pay-in slip stamped and keep it carefully till you get a confirmation from us. This should happen within a maximum of three working days for cash and seven working days for cheques and D.Ds. We will email you with a confirmation; you can then login and start accessing your training courses. back to top 3) How much does each Area (set of courses in banking and finance) training and certification cost? The current pricing is as below, and does not include service tax:
Service tax is extra per actual and is currently at 10.3%. Note that the first Rs.10 lakh of revenue does not attract Service Tax for us, so if you're one of the early birds, you may not have to pay this. back to top 1) What if I have not finished the training courses during the four month validity? We have chosen a four month validity to enable ample time for you. Once this period expires, the product access is closed. You can get an extension, by purchasing the same product again. You will be able to pay a discounted price for the extension. This is only for the training products, not the certification. back to top 2) What if I have doubts during the e-learning? We offer online doubt clearing sessions regularly. You will need speakers on your PC/laptop to hear the faculty. These are limited participant sessions, so be sure to register only when you're sure you'll attend. Else you'll be stopping other users from accessing this facility; repeated abuse of this facility can lead to termination of the account. When a doubt clearing session - Webinar - is set up, you'll see the notification on your User Dashboard. Click on the link to register. You can register for a maximum of five doubt-clearing session for each training product. .back to top 1) Where will I give my certification exam? FLIP certification examinations are available everyday, in different cities. We're rolling out in 8 cities - Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad - and will add more as we grow. The certification exams are conducted during specific slots during the day, every day except national holidays or emergencies. You can book a slot which matches availability with your convenience. Please be at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to time, to allow for your identity check and familiarization with the testing process. back to top 3) When and how can I book the date for certification? When you are looking to purchase a certification, you are shown the available slots at different locations. If they suit you, you can go ahead and purchase. Online payments will enable an immediate booking; offline payments will need to await our receipt of payment to book. back to top 4) Can I cancel/post-pone my exam date? Yes; you will see the percentage you have scored, after submitting the test, at the venue itself. We will also send you an email. Allow about two working weeks for us to send you the printed certificate by courier. back to top 6) What is the type and length of the Certification Exam? The certification exam will be about 2 hours' duration (this can vary a bit based on the exam). The questions will be of various objective types; most will be application based, not knowledge based. That is, we will usually not ask you for definitions etc. But the certification exam is a rigorous one with negative marking. Please be sure you are well prepared, before attempting the exam. back to top 7) How can I ensure that I am adequately prepared? Is there a mock test I can take? Yes; all users, whether you have bought training or certification (or both!) can go through a diagnostic test. We recommend you go through this test only when you have prepared, don't just write it for the heck of it. This diagnostic test is part of the e-learning offering and you can take it on your desktop. Chapter-wise feedback will help you understand which chapter you need to brush up on, before attempting the Certification Exam. back to top 8) What is the pass percentage? What if I fail? The pass percentage is as follows: Foundation: 60% (after negative marking) Intermediate & Expert Levels: 60% (after negative marking) If you do not clear the examination, you'll just need to purchase and write it again. You can repeat a certification exam once more in a year. back to top 9) How can I apply for a job once I have the FLIP certificate? Three ways - one, FLIP users will have access to job postings from banks and FIs, relevant to the Area you have purchased. You can apply directly. Second, we will forward your CV to recruiters who request for candidates who have scored beyond their defined cut-off in the Certification Exam. Third, when you apply on your own, do check on our website if the recruiter is a FLIP endorsing company. If so, make sure you carry you certificate to the interview and mention that you are a FLIP certified candidate, on your CV. back to top 1) Can I share my account with somebody else? NO. You have purchased the account for your own use. We will be tracking simultaneous use of the ID and blocking it. This will also have legal consequences as it will constitute abuse of the conditions on purchase. Apart from the formal conditions, listen: we have worked really hard, and spent enormous amounts of time and money to develop these training products for you. We've priced it reasonably; we ensure ongoing updation of content. We're sure you'll respect this, and support us by saying a firm NO if a friend asks to share your account. back to top 2) Will the FLIP courses work on a low-bandwidth/dial up connection? We want technology to be an enabler, not a show-stopper! We've recognized bandwidth issues in India, and worked to ensure you have reasonable access even on a dial-up/low bandwidth connection. It won't be ideal - but it will work pretty well.
